Vancouver, B.C.: In 2014, the National Film Board of Canada honoured Stephen and Marguerite Hines the “Best Animated Feature Film” for their feature film The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

The documentary on the film shows the family, Stephen and Marguerite (the duo’s two sons), traveling to the British Columbia desert to see the first of four haunted houses, only to be confronted by a ghost and witness the destruction of the house’s main entrance. In a 2015 interview with The Stranger, the Hines family says that they knew about the haunted house footage and “were thrilled” to actually see it for the first time. They also told the Stranger that after seeing the haunted house footage, they now plan to open a local haunted house in a remote area of their home.
